The Challenge & Approach

Building a visual presence from the ground up.

Les Films du Fait Divers came to the project without a website and with a logo that no longer reflected the company or the world of film production.

The existing mark was visually complex, lacked a clear concept, and had no broader visual system to create consistency across the brand.

Rather than treating the website as a standalone project, the opportunity was to build a complete visual presence from the ground up, establishing a distinctive identity and translating it into a digital experience.

The new direction combines cinematic references with a restrained editorial visual language, creating a system designed to work across identity and digital experience.

From brand identity and art direction through UX/UI design, Figma, and WordPress development, the entire experience was designed as one cohesive system.

The Identity & Result

Two perspectives. One frame.

At the heart of the new identity is an icon built around collaboration and creative direction.

Two abstract geometric forms represent the company's two partners. Brought together, they subtly evoke the gesture of two hands forming a frame; the familiar gesture directors use to visualise a shot and define a composition.

The result is a symbol directly connected to filmmaking without relying on literal film imagery .Its geometric construction creates a clean, contemporary and adaptable mark, while the reduced visual language allows the identity to work across digital and physical applications.

The colour palette reinforces the concept: red brings creative energy and passion, while black and white introduce contrast, precision and restraint.

Together, these elements create a visual identity built around collaboration, creativity and storytelling, giving Les Films du Fait Divers a distinctive foundation for its new digital presence.
